How You Can Take Advantage of Twitter's New 'Customer Feedback' Tool

It’s become something of a trend for U.S. consumers to share their thoughts about the customer service they have received -- good and bad --through social media. That said, the NICE/BCG 2016 Consumer Experience Report shows that many consumers are starting to have doubts about whether or not social media platforms alone are a way for brands to address their issues.
Certainly, some customer service responses on social media have been subpar in recent years, but customers still rely on these services. According to the Twitter blog, some advertisers report that 80 percent of customer feedback is provided through Twitter. And because Twitter recognizes that social media has the potential to be a powerful customer service tool for brands, the company has recently released new tools that make managing this feedback even easier.

Twitter rolls out a new customer feedback tool.

A few weeks ago, Twitter unveiled several new tools for global brands, the most important of which was aptly named "Customer Feedback." How does it work?
Customer Feedback allows brands to privately solicit feedback from customers, who can take advantage of the tool after initiating a conversation with their favorite brands. There are a few reasons this feature improves over previous customer feedback options on Twitter:
  • Brands can ask customers to participate in surveys using the Net Promoter Score (NPS) and Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) formats.
  • Brands can easily store data from their customer service responses.
  • Brands can deliver customized replies to express gratitude to participating customers.
Though the Customer Feedback tool isn’t available to the general public just yet, brands should still familiarize themselves with it, as Twitter will start opening it up to select businesses over the next month, and allow other companies to enroll after any user bugs are resolved. If your company wants to be an early adopter, contact the Twitter Help Center for more information.

Several brands laud new customer feedback solutions.

Although the new tool has only just been announced, brands are already expressing strong support for it. Greg Cannon, vice president of Digital at Caesars Interactive, says he's confident the service will be invaluable for his company’s customer-service team: Twitter is the go-to network for our digitally-connected guests,” he said. “Understanding customer satisfaction in relation to the service we’re giving on social is incredibly important to Caesars, and we’re excited to embrace these two features, to facilitate that understanding.”
Joshua March, founder and CEO of Conversocial; Dmitry Ozik, co-founder of HighYa; and Elizabeth Closmore, global head of Product Evangelism and Partnerships at Sprinklr, have also spoken highly of Twitter’s ability to improve customer-service capabilities.

How will brands benefit from customer feedback?

Twitter expects that its new tool will transform customer service for brands across the world. Here’s why that claim could very well be true:
Will deliver more timely customer service to thousands of customers. According to Twitter, four out of five people make customer service reports through the company's service; so, whether brands prefer to interact with people through social media or not is irrelevant. They must reply in a timely manner or risk alienating those customers.
Yet existing customer service options on social media are inadequate for many brands. Large businesses can receive hundreds or even thousands of direct messages or replies every day, and separating unimportant messages from customer service requests can be difficult.
The new Customer Feedback tool, however, will allow brands to organize all their customer service responses in one area, enabling them to more easily manage them and provide more timely feedback to their customers.
Will reduce customer service costs. Customers who don’t receive responses through Twitter have to follow up through another channel, often winding up contacting call centers as a second resort.
Unfortunately, call centers are a much more expensive way to deal with feedback. One report from the Harvard Business Review found that brands can serve customers through social media for 20 percent of the cost of a call center. Transitioning to social-media management of customer inquiries could result in big savings for savvy businesses.

Start getting your upgraded customer service ready ready to go.

A solid customer service model is one of the most important factors in a company’s growth. In fact, it’s one of the reasons businesses such as Gainsight are so successful. While the tool isn’t immediately available to all brands, Twitter has shared enough information for you to start strategizing. Here are some good practices that you’ll want to follow as you prepare to get started:
Seek concise answers. In August, Twitter removed the 140-character limit for direct messages. Since customer feedback with Twitter's new tool will be provided through direct messages,  customers have all the space they need to elaborate on their experiences with your brand. However, you should still ask questions that can be answered in a couple of sentences.
Reading customer feedback takes time. You’ll be able to process it much more quickly if you ask direct questions that allow for short responses.
Brainstorm 3-to-5 questions. The general rule of thumb is to limit customer surveys to 10 questions, though you’ll want to consider using even fewer questions on Twitter’s Customer Feedback platform. People tend to have a much shorter attention span on social media, and it’s important to show that you respect their time.
Craft professional replies. Twitter allows you to send follow-up replies to customers who participate in your surveys, though you should avoid issuing a generic reply, such as: “Thank you for your response! Your feedback is important to us.”
Instead, use the space to reassure your customers that you’re addressing their concerns. Tell them how long it will take you to follow up and give additional resources that may help them in the meantime.
Put it all together, and you’ve got a recipe for customer service success on social media!

A New Study Says Blondes Are Smarter Than You Think

Watch out brunettes, you may have some competition.
According to a study published this month
in Economics Bulletin, the dumb blonde argument
is nothing more than myth.
But you might not need science to make that claim --
just take some of these ladies into consideration:
Meg Whitman, CEO at Hewlett Packard Enterprise,
Yahoo's Marissa Mayer or
Elle Woods of Legally Blonde (in Hollywood terms).
Why the stigma exists wasn’t exactly indicated
in the study, though the stigma of fair-haired
women is one that’s lasted for decades,
especially if they’re pretty.
Economist Jay Zagorsky of Ohio State University
looked at data from baby boomers and information
from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth group
for 1979 who were between 14 and 21
and have since been interviewed at least 26 times.
The specialist also compared hair color
and IQ tests in search of a correlation.
The result? People with blonde hair, especially women,
actually had the highest average IQ scores.
Overall, maybe someone such as
Elle Woods isn’t as unique as society
or Hollywood might like to think.

7 Steps for Earning Your First Million Dollars

Do you remember hearing your family talk about money as a child?

Growing up on welfare in New York City, I remember my family talking about getting rich. It seemed like everyone wanted to be a millionaire, but neither would admit it. They would talk about traveling the world, eating the finest food, and even gallantly arriving to the Oscars in the most luxurious clothing.
Soon enough, the conversation would come to a brief halt and the leader of the discussion would sharply castigate the dreamers, leading to an immediate silence. Within the same awkward minute, the wiser members of my family would nervously giggle, and then gasp in my direction, "Don't worry Daniel, when you go to college and get a job, you can bail us out."
Most people want to become millionaires, but like my family, they are put down because their goal is too 'unrealistic'. They're taught to conform to the patterns of former generations. The possibilities of becoming rich are soon obstructed by excuse-making, limitations, and perceived setbacks.
However, the path to becoming a millionaire is easy once you’re able to admit it. Instead of writing off the possibilities and accepting the advice of failures, you must believe that it can happen. You must affirm to yourself and those who support you that you’ll do whatever it takes to make it happen.

1. Make promises.

In order to reach your highest goals, you need to make promises to everyone you meet. This is the single-best way to hold yourself accountable. It’s like the villager who told everyone in his village, “I’m going to catch the biggest game in town.” Not only did he challenge himself to find creative ways to hunt, but he also pushed his friends and foes to achieve more too.
In the process of becoming rich, there are many people who are willing and able to help you reach your goals. However, they can only do so if you tell them your aspirations. Go ahead and tell everyone that you’re writing a book, starting a new business, or losing weight. Let your ego work in your favor. Eventually, your promises will come to fruition if you get enough people involved.
The people that you are looking for are also looking for you.

2. Self-acceptance.

If you want to be accepted by others, you need to first accept yourself. To accept yourself, you have to acknowledge that you’ve done your best up until this point, even if you know you can do more. By accepting yourself, you’ll be able to confidently overcome fears, criticism, or rejection from others. Self-acceptance will allow you to have unprecedented breakthroughs in your life.

3. Own your wealth.

If you want money, you must take responsibility over your personal finances. Many people don’t want to deal with their money directly. Oftentimes, they direct their financial responsibilities to others. In one study, I found that 76% of people fail to check their bank accounts on a daily basis. Who can have more money if they don’t know what they have?
One of my clients told me of his financial despairs: "My wife takes care of the bills. I just ‘make the money’ and let her handle the finances. She always buys whatever we need for the house." Of course, this total irresponsibility is the reason why this man was failing financially. I told him about the value of discussing financial affairs with his wife. Within one year, he more than doubled his income.

4. Dominate debt.

Billions of people are consumed in credit card and college debt. With the overwhelming pressure of debt, many people torment themselves in their own mental prisons to pay their bills each month. They often say, “I can’t wait to pay this bill off so we can pay another.” However, this thinking is erroneous and leads to misery and failure.
It’s synonymous with saying, “When I pay off the $500 car payment, I can’t wait to get to the $500 credit card!” Of course, this sounds utterly foolish, but the majority people still fall into this trap. Instead of using the excess money on debt, pay the minimum and use the money on yourself to learn how to get rich. In short, let the thoughts of wealth demolish the thoughts of debt.

5. Overcoming adversity.

Every time you face a setback, you must ask yourself this question: How can I turn this adversity into opportunity? Adversity is the opportunity to turn our lives around. It helps us to make positive alterations to fine-tune our approach. If we can see the opportunities in our troubles, we can become infinitely richer.
One time, I was asked to give a speech. Because I had experience with the subject, I felt quite confident. However, on the day of the speech, I failed miserably in front of my audience. As I sweated profusely, I found myself emotionally bankrupt. That day, I decided to become the best public speaker I could be. Today, I've reach millions of people to this date!
Adversity is your ticket to greatness.

6. Find your place.

If you want to become a millionaire, you must find your place. Some of the people who write me live in Third World countries, while others allow their day jobs to suck 80 hours out of their weeks. Often times, I find students who write me saying, “I just finished my first year of school and I don’t even know how I can do another 3 years!”
The best advice I ever got was from my coach, who simply said, “Find Your Place.” I learned that if I wanted to make things happen, I would have to move out of my zip code and stop letting small excuses hold me back. That same year, I found an industry that offers maximum impact, influence, and income. After learning everything I could about it, I pursued it wholeheartedly and never turned back.

7. Get personal coaching.

You can read books, watch videos, and study independently all you want, but eventually you’ll have to pay for a coach if you want monumental success. Whether you hire a life, business, or fitness coach, you must invest money in a personal coach that can take you to the next level. Customized coaching is the difference between amateurs and professionals.
Wise counsel can come from your parents and friends, but your coach offers you expertise that will give you explosive results. Often times, we find ourselves on a plateau because ‘we don’t know what we don’t know’. Thankfully, coaches will illuminate the truth, which will catapult you into rarefied airs of achievement, allowing you to create perpetual success for the rest of your life.
Summary
Reaching the million-dollar mark is a serious commitment that requires great shifts in your thinking. If you believe that you were destined to make it happen, find out everything you can about millionaires and learn from them. Take these suggestions and use them to leverage your greatest talents, skills, and abilities.
